If you want to get married, say so, even on the first date. That may scare away a few people but anyone who is interested in the same thing will stick around. You must be willing to risk losing everything you think you have, in order to get what you want.
If you are on a first date, you aren’t risking much, and it’s better to know that this person has no intentions other than to play if you are looking for a serious relationship. As adults, there are no solid reasons for playing teenage games. Why not say it like it is? I think a grown-up relationship is so much more attractive than carrying on an internal dialogue that sounds like this: “I wonder what he thinks of me?”
